All of our Personal Trainers are certified by the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) or similar organization. They all receive extensive additional training specific to Shoreline Fitness. We follow a strict evidence-based program for our personal training clients including a comprehensive physical assessment. You will get RESULTS!!

This assessment is critical to establishing a member’s baseline so that a proper exercise progression can be created to achieve the member’s goals. It is also crucial to identify muscle imbalances, injuries, weaknesses, compensations, and areas of pain and discomfort which are often caused or exacerbated by over and under active muscles. Once the over and under active muscle are identified, we advocate an approach that strengthens over-lengthened muscles and stretches over-tightened muscles to help create proper muscle alignment. Often times this results in loss of pain, reduces the propensity for chronic injuries, and increases overall mobility and stability. The PT Assessment entails the following:

• Movement Assessment-Observes movement pattern dysfunctions
• Flexibility Assessment-Observes flexibility and range of motion for
  key joints and muscle groups
• Stability Assessment-Observes capability of stabilization muscles
• Cardio (VO2 Max) Assessment-Observes cardiovascular fitness
• Plan of Action-Specific plan of action based on the results of the above
  assessments including identifying the Macro & Micro training cycles to
  meet the member’s goals and Corrective action plan to address muscle
  imbalances, instability, and weakness
