Pilates Pilates is a system of exercise designed to train the entire body from the core out. While mat exercises offer a complete workout, equipment-based workouts provide an advantage, using spring resistance and assistance that helps the body accelerate the process of re-aligning and strengthening the body. Reformer classes combine the traditional movements of Pilates with stretches, strength movements, balances and other fitness elements challenging participants at a level most have never experienced before.
